Stefano Gelli, a native of Livorno, approached photography in 1986.
He is passionate about sports, and his goal was to photograph it at high levels. He achieved this goal in 1997 when, with the help of the publication "Un anno di rugby" (A Year of Rugby), a close collaboration began with the Milan-based agency Omega Fotocronache. During that period, his photos were published in the main national newspapers and magazines. From 1996 to 1999, he worked for the triathlon magazine "Triathlete". In 2000, some of his landscape photos were used for a calendar distributed nationally.
In 2011, he specialized in spherical panoramic photography and used this technique to document some moments of the Costa Concordia shipwreck for the German magazine "Der Spiegel". In recent years, he has been focusing on daytime landscape photography.
Since 2019, he has been a European Partner for KASE Filters Europe, and since 2024, he has been the Italian Testimonial for SIGMA Lenses.
He is a professional photographer.
