Rino Giardiello was born in Naples at a time when children went to bed after watching Carosello, and it was there that he received his cultural education and completed his studies (degree in Architecture).
A professional photographer specializing in architectural photography in Italy and abroad, he is a curious experimenter of any technique from the past and future in the field of photography, a creative mind constantly seeking a stable balance.
He approached the Foveon sensor in search of the lost film, becoming a convinced and expert user for his black-and-white architectural, landscape, and reportage photos, often pushing the limits of this magnificent sensor and remaining loyal to the brand even with subsequent SIGMA cameras featuring Bayer sensors. For over 25 years, he has founded and directed the online photography magazine Nadir Magazine, a reference point for all photography enthusiasts thanks to numerous articles on technique, creativity, and tests of cameras, lenses, and accessories. Highly appreciated for his photography courses and his extensive work in technical dissemination combined with attention to image quality: technique cannot exist without beauty.
Many of his articles and tests, particularly those concerning SIGMA products and the Foveon sensor, are also available as videos on YouTube.
He has written for numerous photography and architecture magazines, participated in television programs, and organized events and seminars at photography associations and various university venues. When he finishes working and is too tired, he finds nothing better than going out to take pictures to relax.
