Solito Carlos

Journalist, documentary filmmaker, photographer, and Italian writer, Carlos Solito wasborn in Apulia, Italy. He collaborates with numerous national magazines and newspapers, producing travel reports. He directs short films, documentaries, and commercials, narratingdifferentareas of the world. His photographshavebeenexhibited in several countries. He haspublished more thantwentyillustratedvolumes for major Italian publishers and authored the short story collection Il contrario del sole (Versante Sud, 2010) and Montagne (Elliot, 2012), together with Dacia Maraini, Paolo Rumiz, Franco Arminio, and others. He isalso the author of the novelsSciamenesciá (Elliot, 2016), La ballata dei Sassi and Troppa notte intorno a me (bothpublished by Sperling & Kupfer in 2019 and 2021). For Rizzoli, he published Sogno a Sud (2020) and La luce che non ti ho raccontato (2022). His mostrecent works include La promessa della Madre (Treccani, 2024) and Il Cammino di Padre Pio (Edizioni San Paolo, 2024). For the international American editions of Assouline, he contributed to the photographic book ROMA Eterna (New York, 2025). In the program La biblioteca dei sentimenti, broadcast on RAI 3, he curated– as a regular guest – the segmentdedicated to photography.
